SEO Salary in Sydney
What SEO jobs pay in Sydney in 2026: median around A$105,000, plus bands by experience level and role, who is hiring, and how to…
A working benchmark for SEO pay in Spain — median, ranges by experience and role, the employers setting those ranges, and what the number is actually worth once cost of living is taken into account.
The median SEO salary in Spain is approximately €32,000 (roughly $35,000 USD at mid-2026 exchange rates). That figure is a blend rather than a single source: public trackers disagree with each other by 20 percent or more because they sample different things — self-reported pay, posted job-ad ranges, and employer submissions all produce different medians for the same work.
Spain combines relatively low domestic salaries with an unusually strong and well-networked SEO community, particularly in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. The domestic ceiling is low, but Spain has become one of Europe's main bases for practitioners employed remotely by higher-paying markets, which distorts the top of the local distribution upward.
A single median tells you almost nothing about your own position. What matters is which band your scope, seniority and specialism place you in, and whether the employer benchmarks nationally or by metro. Use the ranges below rather than the headline number.
Experience is the strongest single predictor of SEO pay in Spain, but the jumps are not evenly spaced. The step from entry to mid is largely a function of time and reliability; the step from mid to senior is a function of scope — whether you own outcomes or execute tasks. That second jump is where most careers stall.
| Level | Typical band (EUR) | What the role actually owns |
|---|---|---|
| Entry level (0–2 yrs) | €20,000 – €26,000 | First role. Execution against someone else's brief: on-page fixes, content briefs, reporting support. |
| Mid level (2–5 yrs) | €27,000 – €37,000 | Owns a channel or a client set. Runs audits, sets priorities, briefs and reviews work. |
| Senior (5–8 yrs) | €37,000 – €50,000 | Sets strategy, owns forecasts, handles migrations and cross-functional work without supervision. |
| SEO manager | €45,000 – €62,000 | People and budget responsibility on top of channel ownership; usually 2–6 direct reports. |
| Head of SEO / director | €65,000 – €95,000 | Owns organic search as a business line, reports into marketing or growth leadership. |
Bands overlap deliberately. A strong mid-level practitioner in a high-paying sector will out-earn a weak senior in a low-paying one, which is why sector choice is worth as much attention as title.
Job titles in SEO are not standardised, and two roles with the same title can sit a full band apart. The table below maps the common titles onto the experience bands above, which is a more reliable way to read an advertised range than the title on its own.
| Role | Typical band (EUR) | Why it lands there |
|---|---|---|
| SEO executive / SEO specialist | €27,000 – €37,000 | The most common title in the market. Blends on-page work, content briefs and light technical fixes. |
| SEO analyst | €27,000 – €37,000 | Measurement-weighted. Reporting, forecasting and diagnosis rather than implementation. |
| Technical SEO specialist | €37,000 – €50,000 | Sits at the top of the band it shares with generalists, because the skill pool is smaller. |
| SEO content strategist | €27,000 – €37,000 | Usually the lower half of the mid band unless the role owns a full editorial P&L. |
| Link building / digital PR specialist | €27,000 – €37,000 | Wide spread: outreach execution anchors low, earned-media strategy anchors high. |
| SEO manager | €45,000 – €62,000 | The first band where people management and budget ownership are priced in. |
| Head of SEO / SEO director | €65,000 – €95,000 | Small population, wide range. Reporting line and revenue scope matter more than headcount. |
If a title you are looking at is not on this list, run it through the SEO job title level estimator, which maps inconsistent titles onto a standard seniority ladder.
Travel and hospitality, marketplaces, affiliate and comparison publishers, iGaming and a large agency layer are the main employers. Barcelona's international startup scene runs predominantly in English and pays above the Spanish average for the same seniority.
Most openings in this market surface first on a small number of boards:
Our directory of SEO job boards covers the wider set, including the niche boards that carry senior and specialist roles that never reach the general aggregators.
Cost of living is materially lower than in northern Europe outside of central Barcelona and Madrid, which is exactly why the remote arbitrage is so common. A €50,000 senior salary in Valencia supports a standard of living closer to a €75,000 salary in Amsterdam.
Before you compare two offers across markets, convert both to after-tax, after-housing terms. The cost-of-living comparison tool does the first half of that; the offer comparison tool does the second, including bonus, equity, pension and benefits.
Nominal salaries across markets are only comparable once converted to a common currency, and even then they omit tax, healthcare and pension differences that can move real income by 20 points or more. Read this table as a rough ordering, not a ranking.

Spain's digital-nomad visa and the Beckham-law tax regime have made it one of the most practical European bases for SEO consultants billing overseas clients. If you are Spain-based and senior, the highest-value move is almost always to price in euros against a UK, Dutch or US client base rather than a domestic one.
Four moves compress the timeline in any market:
A good SEO salary in Spain depends on level. Anything at or above €37,000 is a strong mid-level outcome, and €50,000 or more puts you at the top of the senior individual-contributor band. Against the local median of €32,000, clearing the median with fewer than five years of experience is a good position.
Entry-level SEO roles in Spain typically pay €20,000 – €26,000. The floor is usually an agency or in-house coordinator seat; the top of that band is generally a first analyst or specialist role at a company that already has a search function. See our entry-level SEO salary guide for how to position inside that range.
SEO pays around or slightly above the general marketing average in Spain at the start, and well above it at senior level. The reason is the shape of the curve rather than the starting point: technical and strategic depth compound, so the gap between an SEO practitioner and a generalist marketer widens with each year. Our guide to whether SEO is a good career covers the trade-offs in full.
Increasingly, no — remote roles are priced against the employer's band rather than the employee's location. That cuts both ways: practitioners in lower-cost parts of Spain can capture higher bands, while those in the most expensive metros lose their local premium. Always ask which geographic band an offer sits in. Our remote SEO salary guide goes deeper.
Technical SEO and AI-search work. Job-ad analysis through 2026 has consistently shown roles mentioning AI search, GEO or AEO advertising materially higher ranges than otherwise identical listings. Add migration ownership and enough data skill to build your own forecasts, and you are in the smallest, best-paid part of the applicant pool. Start with our essential technical SEO skills guide.
