Privacy Policy

What this site does and does not collect. The short version: it is a static site with no analytics, no ads and no accounts, and the tools never send what you type anywhere.

The short answer

  • No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no accounts, no mailing list.
  • Every calculator and quiz runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted or stored.
  • Standard server logs are processed by the hosting provider to deliver pages and prevent abuse.
  • Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces, so your browser makes a request to Google for those files.

In plain terms

This is a static website. It has no accounts, no login, no comment system and no server-side application. There is no database on our side that could hold information about you, and we do not sell, rent or share anything with data brokers.

The three ways any information reaches us at all are set out below.

The calculators and tools

Every tool on this site — the salary calculators, the resume scorer, the interview answer builder, the quizzes — runs entirely in your browser as JavaScript on your own device.

Nothing you type into them is transmitted to us, logged, or stored. There is no server endpoint receiving it. You can verify this by opening your browser's network tab while using a tool, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page loads: every tool still works.

The tools do not write to cookies or local storage either, which is why your inputs are gone when you reload the page.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served by a commercial hosting and CDN provider. Like any web host, it processes standard request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, referrer — in order to deliver pages, defend against abuse and produce aggregate traffic counts.

This processing is carried out by the hosting provider under its own terms; we do not receive individual-level logs and do not use them to build profiles of visitors.

If you email us

If you contact [email protected], we receive whatever you send: your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message. That is held in an ordinary email account, used only to reply to you and to act on corrections, and never added to a mailing list — there is no mailing list.

Ask us to delete a message thread and we will.

Third parties

Two third parties are involved in delivering a page:

  • The hosting and CDN provider, as described above.
  • Google Fonts, which serves the two typefaces the site uses. Your browser requests those font files from Google's servers, which means Google receives the request metadata (including IP address) for that request.

Beyond that, outbound links on this site lead to third-party websites — job boards, salary trackers, documentation, software vendors — each with its own privacy practices that we do not control. Some outbound links to software and courses are affiliate links, which means the destination may set its own cookie to attribute a referral; see the disclosure page.

What we do not do

  • No display advertising and no ad networks.
  • No behavioural tracking, remarketing pixels or cross-site identifiers.
  • No selling or sharing of personal data.
  • No newsletter sign-up, so no email list to be on.
  • No user accounts, so no credentials to lose.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and comparable regimes you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over personal data held about you. In practice the only personal data we hold is correspondence you have sent us. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].

If you are in the EU or UK and are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

This site is intended for adults making career decisions. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If the site's practices change — for example if analytics were ever added — this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and the date at the top of the page will change with it.

Keep going
