Global Rental, Service & Marketing (GRSM) is a part of the Services, Distribution & Digital (SD&D) segment. GRSM is comprised of Global Rental & Used Equipment Services, Global Service and Global Marketing & Brand. Job Summary: 

As a Search Engine Optimization Specialist at Caterpillar, you will be responsible for all aspects of international Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for Caterpillar web properties.  You will execute SEO projects by performing keyword research, link building, competitive analysis, search audits, technical SEO consultation and execution.  You will present SEO recommendations to developers and business unit partners, and scope and execute SEO improvement projects.  You will be required to provide education about the benefits and strategy behind SEO to diverse audiences throughout the company.  Additionally, you will meet with clients for consultation and training, recommend keywords to include in content based on keyword and competitive research, and document and report results.

What You Will Do:

  • Apply ethical SEO best practices when performing tasks such as keyword research, competitive analysis, meta tag creation, and social media optimization
  • Present SEO reports to the client, perform analysis of SEO KPIs and make suggestions for improvements
  • Keep up to date on current SEO strategies through continuing education, seminars, subscriptions, and self-study. Apply and share these strategies and updates with cross-functional teams and workgroups
  • Consult with global internal business partners to educate and apply SEO governance
  • Develop technical and content SEO recommendations for specific programs
  • Develop SEO roadmaps for product & service groups
  • Consult with developers and development teams to document technical SEO requirements, prioritize requirements, test enhancements and document results of enhancements

What You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Marketing
  • 2+ years of SEO experience
  • Experience optimizing for Google, Bing and/or Yahoo
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (such as Adobe Experience Manager)
  • 2+ years of experience using an enterprise SEO platform such as BrightEdge (preferred), technical SEO platforms such as OnCrawl, Google Search Console, Siteimprove, Bing/Baidu/Yandex Webmaster Tools, keyword tools, Majestic, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience using Google Analytics or similar web reporting platform to pull out insights and actionable data
  • Applied knowledge of keyword research, link building, on-page optimization, ranking factors, technical factors (html, schema, canonical tags, hreflang, xml sitemaps, robots.txt files, creating redirects, etc.), and SEO Audits (both for content and technical)

Top Candidates will also have:

  • API/Tableau experience preferred
  • Experience optimizing for international search engines such as Baidu and Yandex
  • Digital marketing copywriting skills
  • In-depth Project Management experience
