Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, the Website/SEO Manager designs, manages and leads the web strategy for Alverno College, to include the Alverno.edu, Admission and Advancement websites. The manager counsels and leads key stakeholders to ensure that Alverno’s brand and reputation are creatively represented through the college’s website properties. Position exercises a high degree of initiative, judgment, and attention to detail. Must have a deep understanding of communications and interactive marketing, including website development, web metrics and analytics, SEO, SEM, PPC. Must be passionate about continuous improvement and working in a mission driven environment.

Description
The following information is not meant to be all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
 Designs and leads efforts to deliver the best website experience to all Alverno College constituencies.
 Manages interactive projects from conception through completion, working collaboratively with internal and external partners to define objectives, scope, and priorities, establish timelines, and achieve successful implementation.
 Consults with College web content owners to understand needs and make strategy recommendations to enhance the College’s digital properties, as well as provides support to college web content owners.
 Maintains and updates the College website daily, ensuring exceptional usability experience and compliance with federal and state accessibility guidelines.
 Project management of website builds and maintenance from intake to solution mapping to proposal/budgeting to execution/delivery.
 Maintenance of relationships with external partners/vendors for development, design, and related software platforms
 Understanding of web development and custom code work to the degree necessary to guide, vet, and oversee provider solutions, as well as the ability to communicate those solutions to clients
 Ability to produce persona-informed user paths and UI/UX architecture guidance to staff and/or external development teams
 Coordinate with the design team to bring intended designs to life on time and on budget while properly setting client expectations
 Demonstrate ability to teach the skills above to inters if needed
 Serves as an engaged, collaborative member of the Marketing and Communications team.
 Participates in department meetings, committees, and official College functions. Performs other tasks as necessary to support the mission of the College.

SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION:
 Assume ownership of Alverno SEO strategy, execution, reporting and communication through individual contribution, training and delegation of internal staff, and coordination of external providers. This includes but is not limited to:
o Organic traffic alignment with client goals
o SEO focus alignment with content creation
o Internal staff and external provider communication
o Keyword research
o Competitive research
o Meta content optimization
o Header tag optimization
o Image alt (alt tag) optimization
o HTML schema setup
o Google Analytics & goal set up
o Google Search Console set up3
 Website and SEO reporting integration
 Work with marketing team, and vendors to set up/integrate and monitor KPI tracking across all relevant platforms, including but not limited to GA4
 Uses metrics that measure the value of content, content accuracy and search relevance.
 Maintains and reports web analytics to track trends, lead generation efforts and campaign results. Monitors and evaluates competitive environment, use of digital concepts, and industry trends to ensure that Alverno remains an active adopter of new technologies, best practices,and interactive solutions.

Qualifications
1. A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media Web Design, User Experience, Technical or Visual Communication or a related field is required. Journalists and
communicators with applied digital skills and experience are highly encouraged to apply.
2. Four years of digital marketing work, with progressively responsible experience, in a complex environment is required. Higher education and/or nonprofit experience is beneficial but not
required.
3. Must be skilled in working with a content management system and have knowledge of HTML and CSS, as well as experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite.
4. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, including keen attention to detail. Requires the ability to communicate and respond to internal and external partners professionally, as well as the ability to explain technical content to a non-technical audience.
5. Must be self-directed with strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to develop innovative approaches and ideas and meet challenges with resourcefulness and humor. No egos, please!
6. Must have the ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner.
