What We’re Looking For
Are you WISE with search engine optimization? The “Manager” in our “SEO Manager” position has a triple meaning:
We’re looking for an experienced SEO professional who can immediately manage SEO efforts for our larger accounts – running strategy and implementation together with a killer team of SEO-friendly developers, content specialists, and more.
We’re also looking for a leader who can manage our small-yet-mighty SEO team of 2-3 specialists after the first 30-60 days.
Finally, we’re looking for someone who can help manage the SEO Department–including overall strategy and processes–after the first 60-90 days. This will be with continued guidance from our current Director of SEO, who has been promoted to run all operations.
What You’ll Do
The five core responsibilities of the SEO Manager position are as follows:
MANAGE ACCOUNTS – Run strategy and implementation on our larger SEO accounts, sharing reporting insights, aligning with client goals, and ensuring client satisfaction
MANAGE STRATEGY – Understand our SEO philosophy at WISE Digital, and oversee overall SEO strategy and implementation on the team (whether on-page or off-page SEO)
MANAGE PROCESSES – Understand our SEO processes within the department, improving and innovating as needed
MANAGE PEOPLE – Oversee our small SEO fulfillment team, which will include an in-house SEO Specialist and Jr. SEO Specialist, as well as a Freelance SEO Specialist; will also help with planning for future SEO resources
MANAGE COLLABORATION – Collaborates with our developers, designers, copywriters, and paid media specialists; connects directly with clients when needed
What level of SEO work is needed? You’ll help us assess SEO needs, devise strategies, implement work, and analyze results. This will involve doing keyword research, optimizing content, writing HTML tags, analyzing website architecture, reviewing analytics, engaging with Google My Business, assessing link-building opportunities, and more! We serve clients across a wide range of verticals, including legal, medical, mortgage, financial services, ecommerce, health & beauty, and others. You’ll receive a handful of clients to optimize for month after month.
We’re looking for experienced SEO experts anywhere in the country who meet the following criteria:
•At least 5 years of winning SEO experience, and can point to specific case studies, success stories, and websites that demonstrate this (local and national work examples); has agency and multi-industry experience with large accounts
•Can monitor and analyze trends, conduct performance analysis, and leverage data to develop and refine strategy; has great knowledge of and experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and other SEO tools in service of these aims
•Is a compelling written and verbal communicator; has leadership experience and great interpersonal skills
•Strong project management and organizational skills
•Strong knowledge of and experience with a breadth of on-page and off-page SEO factors, including content considerations, website architecture and performance, HTML, link building, technical SEO, and local SEO (including Google Business Profile optimizations and listings management)
•Is skilled at devising strategies, setting and meeting goals, solving problems, and assessing results
•Can thrive as a self-starter in a fast-paced and collaborative remote work environment; needs to be able to work Pacific time hours roughly between 8am-5pm PT
•Carries a friendly and professional demeanor
