As we embark on an exciting phase of expansion, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of SEO and Audience Growth to lead our efforts in building and optimizing our audience growth strategy.
Role Overview:
As the Director of SEO and Audience Growth, you will play a pivotal role in creating, shaping, and executing initiatives to drive new IT and technical professional audiences to visit our site, subscribe to our newsletters, and join our community.
Reporting directly to the VP of Content and Audience, you will leverage your deep expertise in SEO and building audience growth channels to enhance our content visibility, attract organic traffic, and ensure the continuous expansion of our community and readership.
 What will be your responsibilities
  • Strategy development:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive audience growth strategy for Spiceworks, encompassing SEO and new distribution channels.
    • Build the necessary team, tools, and processes to execute the strategy effectively.
  • SEO and growth expertise:
    • Demonstrate deep expertise in SEO and employing advanced strategies to enhance content visibility and attract organic traffic.
    • Stay abreast of industry best practices and algorithm changes to ensure sustained optimization.
  • Data analysis and metrics:
    • Analyze data and metrics to identify opportunities for user acquisition.
    • Implement optimization tactics based on data insights to continually enhance audience growth.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with content & research, audience engagement, and product teams to align strategies, ensuring maximum impact.
    • Guide and foster relationships with influencers and industry leaders to tap into their existing audiences.
  • Innovation and trends:
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging channels for audience expansion.
    • Propose and implement innovative growth initiatives to keep Spiceworks at the forefront of the industry.
 What does it take to do this job
  • 7+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and tracking the results of audience growth strategies, preferably within the online publishing or IT industry.
  • Deep expertise in SEO, showcasing a proven track record of driving substantial organic traffic growth.
  • Experience in identifying key audience personas and successfully targeting those specific audiences.
  • Experience working with large editorial, user-generated content, and research websites is preferred.
  • Proficient in managing Google Analytics and Google Search Console tools.
  • Experience working with WordPress content management systems and Javascript websites.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work proactively with minimal supervision.
  • A curious and continuous learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, enabling effective work with cross-functional teams.
