Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking a WordPress & SEO Specialist (Technical) to join our client’s team. The WordPress & SEO Specialist will maintain, develop and enhance the performance, appearance, and search engine visibility of company blog. In this part-time role, one will collaborate closely with the Sr. SEO Manager, as well as the Content and Design teams to implement code changes, optimize Core Web Vitals performance, and proactively address technical SEO challenges and opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the WordPress website, plugins, database, staging site and WP Engine environmentCollaborate with the Content team to implement template updates, develop new features, and address bug fixes
  • Conduct regular site crawls and analyze issues to identify areas for improvement
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and fixes for technical SEO issues
  • Offer technical insights and guidance to shape the broader SEO strategy
  • Implement internal linking and cross-linking strategies at scale
  • Ensure the website’s security by applying updates and maintaining backups

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years’ technical SEO and WordPress experience
  • Proficiency in WordPress theme customization and development
  • Strong knowledge of web technologies, including HTML/HTML5, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and AJAX.
  • Strong knowledge of standard SEO tools, especially Yoast, Google Search Console and Screaming Frog
  • Experience with Advanced Custom Fields WP plugin
  • Experience with WP Engine hosting environment
  • Solid understanding of technical SEO principles, including on-page and off-page optimization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical issues
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Experience with security best practices for WordPress websites

Location: Can remote from within California but strong preference is to be located in the the San Francisco Bay Area
Duration: 1 year, Part-time 20 hours/week.
Rate: $50/hour W-2 consultant of Crawford Group (Our salary ranges are determined based on skills, experience and location)
