We have an opening for a freelance SEO Strategy Lead to partner with our team to create a web experience meant to change hearts and minds. The chosen candidate will help consult on SEO and content strategy for this project. If you’ve got a track record of driving impactful SEO campaigns for politicians, candidates, lobbying groups, advocacy groups, or nonprofits, and know how to tailor search strategies towards decision-makers, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do

  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for identifying and winning key search queries aimed at decision-makers and opinion leaders.
  • Conduct an SEO audit and take stock of existing content and identify opportunities for new content.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews
  • Lead qualitative user research and concept testing to gather input on our content strategy and design ideas
  • Create information architecture diagrams
  • Contribute to content strategy
  • Work on feature concepts & descriptions
  • Be a strong advocate for putting humans at the center of the digital experiences that we design for clients
  • Work collaboratively with the team, but also operate autonomously and provide value throughout the entire project cycle
  • Partner with the Strategy Director on your team to support and contribute to the broader strategic direction across the team, including creating case studies and sharing internal knowledge, mentoring junior strategists and creating deeper relationships with clients

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in all things SEO
  • Demonstrated success in driving organic search visibility for political figures, candidates, lobbying groups, advocacy groups, or nonprofits.
  • Exposure to and experience with broader strategic frameworks, from digital brand, digital content and information architecture, digital user experience and interaction design, mobile applications, digital marketing, social media and campaigns, and digital transformation
  • Experience with user testing tools, to conduct research and determine informed insights to drive the refinement of digital products and experiences
  • Proven success partnering with and presenting to clients, managing their requests and implementing feedback
  • Experience working with and collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary team including creative and technical partners

Pay Range:

  • The expected pay range for this role is $84-103 per hour for a Lead level Strategist
  • Our company has three regional pay bands that it adheres to depending on your location, we reference them as US 1, US 2, and US 3.
  • US 3 is our base pay. Examples of cities in US 3 are Portland, Houston and Miami.
  • US 2 pay is 7.5% higher than US 3 to meet the market rates. Examples of cities in US 2 are Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle.
  • US 1 pay is 15% higher than US 3 to meet market rates. Examples of cities in US 1 are ​​Brooklyn and San Francisco.
