POSITION OBJECTIVES 

Day to day lead on SEO optimization efforts for assigned clients. Responsible for technical SEO, on-page and content optimization efforts for client websites. Reports to SEO Supervisor or SEO Associate Director, depending on team structure.

 

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Expert knowledge of organic search ranking factors with the ability to make recommendations
  • Primary day to day contact and project manager for internal and external SEO efforts
  • Ability to perform keyword research, write optimized metadata tags, provide recommendations on internal linking, content promotion, content creation and implementation of schema mark up to support connecting with users that are in various phases of the search funnel
  • Work alongside creative agencies to ensure SEO recommendations fit within timelines and are included in client website updates
  • Self-educate to improve SEO skillset by staying up to date with shifts in the marketplace as well as the latest changes in the pharma space and altering recommendations to stay ahead of the curve
  • Develop a deep understanding of client disease states and prescription drugs, helping them leverage SEO to reach HCPs, patients and caregivers
  • Contribute to ongoing thought leadership across the SEO team
  • Leverage your expertise in technical SEO to ensure client websites are created and maintained properly
  • Develop a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical market and how search plays a role in the decision-making process
  • Analyze data in order to make optimizations that will impact client performance
  • Participate in training other internal departments on the basic of SEO in order to support a holistic approach to our marketing efforts
  • Mentor junior team members and new hires to prepare for potential leadership responsibilities
  • Partner with analytics and media teams to develop KPIs and measurement plans
  • Experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, WebTrends and Omniture
  • Stay abreast of new tools, trends and best practices in search marketplace through research and/or industry events and conferences
  • Utilize tools such as Screaming Frog, MOZ, BrightEdge, Google Webmaster tools and other to perform analysis of client websites
  • A solid understanding of how paid media and social listening can partner with SEO to help support overall marketing efforts

 

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, SPECIALIZED TRAINING:

  • PC proficiency and solid working knowledge of MS Office particularly Excel, knowledge of methods to populate and organize data
  • Knowledge of Web Analytics software, such as Omniture, Google Analytics and SEO Tools such as MOZ and SEMRush
  • Healthcare/Pharmaceutical background a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in marketing, business or any quantitative or analytical related fields
  • 2+ years of SEO experience
