Every year, 7.5 million adults in the UK face a legal problem, but too often, people can’t afford to pay a lawyer. Our AI-powered legal platform is built to solve this problem. Using Valla, consumers can collect evidence, manage their case, and connect with lawyers for fixed-priced advice.

Valla was founded in 2020 to make legal services  accessible and affordable to everyone. Starting with UK employment law, Valla has helped thousands of people navigate the complex legal process and manage their workplace issues from grievance to tribunal and resolution.

We’re now growing monthly with 10,000 users signed up and loads of positive feedback from both our users and the legal industry. With huge opportunities to expand, we’re excited for this next stage of growth and offer more people support in more areas of consumer law. 

SEO is a key growth channel for Valla with significant opportunities to expand. Having invested in SEO since our inception, we have a strong foundation to build from and in a good position to accelerate now - with the help of an SEO specialist. 

What you’ll do

As our SEO manager, you’ll review our existing SEO footprint and performance, then dive into both optimising and accelerating our work in this channel within a six-month period of this contract. 

• Review and update Valla’s SEO strategy
• Develop an opinion on AIO, especially for ChatGPT
• Make any critical on-page or structural changes
• Optimise / repackage any content already produced
• Work with our technical/legal writer to develop any new content needed
• Use performance data and competitive insights to develop an offsite strategy to support SEO efforts
• Monitor performance, stay on top of industry trends and algorithm changes, share insights and make required changes

Experience

• 5+ years of SEO experience: deep understanding of SEO methodologies, best practices, and industry trends
• 2+ years marketing experience in a tech startup/scaleup
• Experience significantly increasing monthly website traffic from SEO
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications within SEO
• Strong communication skills and content writing experience

• budget to work with a technical writer with legal expertise to support content development (we have an existing relationship)
• technical support within the company for any website changes

For this role, we are looking for someone working five days a week within UK business hours. The work is fully remote.
