Job Overview

Under the oversight of the Marketing Director, the SEO and Content Manager (Content Manger) will conceptualize, design, and implement a wide range of content materials to support long-term initiatives and increase visibility for the Extended Learning division. The Content Manager will think strategically about how to communicate with diverse audiences and leverage market research to develop content strategies that will drive student recruitment, enrollment, engagement, and retention.  The incumbent provides expertise in content optimization and brand consistency, is an experienced professional with demonstrated creative writing skills, and is detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment. As part of the marketing team, the Content Manager will collaborate with department stakeholders, faculty, and campus partners to develop and produce content marketing campaigns and materials consistent with strategic initiatives and branding. This position will ensure that all marketing materials are on-brand, impactful, consistent, and adapted appropriately to Extended Learning’s media platforms, and will be able to analyze and report on brand and marketing strategies.

The position is currently hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on operational needs.

Position Summary

SEO and Content Manager (Public Affairs/Communications Specialist III)

This is a full time, temporary, exempt position ending on or before June 30, 2024. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual’s performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,833 – $6,250 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,391 – $7,945 per month
